The design of my kitchen necessitated a down-draft cooktop, and there were not a lot to choose from in a 36" that weren't a fortune. Kitchenaid has served me well with my very old stand mixer, so I took a chance their cooktops would be just as reliable. A few weeks in and so far, so good. The burners have good btu output and the top is easy to keep clean. Downdraft is quiet and seems to work efficiently. I especially like the isolated large burner for bigger pots.

I installed this last week. Only used it a couple of times so far. So much better than the old electric. It looks great. My only complaint is that the instructions are worthless. I still have parts that I don't know where they go. I am a contractor, so I know what I am doing.

I find it difficult to clean, especially the heavy, bulky grates. The 5th burner causes my cookware to be off center. My insurance company paid for this cooktop, not one I would have purchased since I'd have tried to lift the grates. Sorry.

I've had this for a month and I really enjoy this cooktop. It's easy to use, the downdraft works really well and I really like the large 5th burner that works great for stockpots. This unit it also really easy to clean which is another nice feature.

We replaced a Viking stove top telescopic down draft with this unit. It is so much nicer and quieter than the Viking. The vent configuration was a bit different but my husband used flexible material to accommodate and it looks great.

I purchased this for our newly built home and was very disappointed that even though the foam seal that goes between the counter top and cook top did not come with it!! In the instructions this part is listed as a letter G part. When I called to Have the send me the missing part. They claimed it wasn't supposed to come with the cooktop! I find it hard to believe that this part is not needed and shouldn't have come with the cooktop and it is clearly marked as a part. This simple but frustrating situation is causing me to not choose further kitchen aide products for my new home. I had a kitchen aide double oven picked out along with other kitchen aide products that I will not purchase because of this! It's always been my understanding that kitchen aide was a company that stood behind their products and are for customer service. I no longer believe this as no one in the service department or ABC Warehouse are willing to get this part for me!

Two weeks ago my new KitchenAid stovetop was installed. I was immediately surprised at how quickly and evenly my stovetop meals cooked. I love the new downdraft feature. The stovetop I replaced was 29 years old. I replaced it because I could no longer get parts for the electronic ignition. We had a separate downdraft that was clunky and I couldn't clean it. This stovetop is very easy to clean. Just open the grate and clean. Very easy. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I have owned this cooktop for 3 weeks. It was part of a complete kitchen update. I have not used it very much but so far love this new appliance. I spent so much time researching downdraft cooktops and also pop-up vent systems. This is what I ended up with based on features, design, and customer reviews. I wanted 5 burners and it was important to me to be able to simmer recipes. This was very difficult to accomplish with my old gas cooktop. I have no trouble simmering with this cooktop and also really like the melting burner. We feel that the downdraft is quite powerful and does a good job drawing steam. (I rarely fry, so would not know how it will work for that.) When guests first see this cooktop they have all been "wowed". Even the men. I was so excited to get this new cooktop and so far am in no way disappointed.

I finally gave in and replaced my old cooktop. Since my old cooktop had a downdraft vent, my choices were more limited. This cooktop is really nice! The five burners is an upgrade for me from four. Even though the granite counter had to be cut slightly to accommodate the size, it was well worth it. The cooktop is very easy to clean. And the vent cavity is large enough to be able to easily clean. Another nice feature is the solid knobs which have a very high quality feel. The smallest burner has an interchangeable part to allow low heating of chocolate sauce dr similar ingredients which are easy to burn.

To say we love this stove would be a complete understatement! It is everything I imaginged a gas stovetop to be. I know you can spend a fortune going with other brands, but why? I have cooked on those as well and see no difference at all except a name. Some prefer the look of a full range, but I prefer the convenience of wall ovens so went with Professional Series Wall ovens and a stove top. So happy with our choices. Would add pictures but even though our kitchen is ALMOST finished our tile is still on backorder.

This gas cooktop is a pleasure to use. I couldn't be happier. There is fast high heat when you need to boil a huge pot of water, or a gentle burner for cooking rice etc, and everything in between. The powerful fan has 3 speeds. It's easy to clean. You can light it with a match if the power goes out.

We love the new cooktop but there are a couple issues with it, there is no slow speed on the fan even though it has different levels on the knob so it sucks the flame over and the pilot wants to ignite we can hear it clicking all the time while cooking

Purchased this in December for our kitchen remodel and use it every day. Love the look. I tend to avoid stainless steel appliances (yep, love the easy care white appliances) but liked the size, features, and price of this KitchenAid. After much research, I picked this one. I have two complaints, first, the gas flame just doesn't seem as "high" as my previous cooktop, so it is slower to boil, cook, etc. I have had it adjusted by two different gas installation companies, and I guess that is it. So, that is a bummer. The other issue is the black disk (that sits on top of where the gas flame is) seems hard to clean. The five disks are matte black, but if something splatters on them it shows and I cannot seem to get them back to matte. (I hope that made sense?) Otherwise, I like the cooktop.

Cooktop was easy to install, including the downdraft. Would recommend installing cooktop before cutting out for downdraft. Converting to propane was simple. Previous Jennaire owner and would recommend over Jennaire due to lower cost and equal performance.

When we purchased our current home, it had a 30" electric cooktop. We both prefer gas and decided at some point we would convert to gas (in this case LP). Conversion process was easy and installation went well. Like all the features and the cooking surface area that comes with a full 36" cooktop. Everything as expected if not more except we've noticed the downdraft fan makes excessive noise in med or high position. Low is acceptable. This may just be this specific unit or maybe something KitchenAid could take a look at. Overall, very nice cooktop.
